Gene and I worked together our senior year at Lierfallom's nursing home. Getting to know him was a wonderful side benefit of that job. He was great with the residents and became a good friend to me. I remember he loved working on cars and would sometimes stay up all night doing that. He also had my Dad as a teacher and told me, "That's the one class I wish I didn't fall asleep in," which I thought was a great compliment. I hope Gene had a good life. I'll guess he never stopped working on cars.
