Kathy was one of the first people I got to know after moving to WBL. She sat by me in the 9th grade in Mr. Shellenberger's class. (social studies?). She was a bright light in many ways, intelligent and pretty. Her good friend Jolynn Schultz sat across from us. The summer before moving to White Bear I had gone on a canoe trip in the BWCA. I started talking about it and to my surprise, Kathy and Jolynn were both interested. That was the beginning of some wonderful summers together. She was a trooper and a great high school friend. I have nothing but fond memories of her.
